A Foggy Morning on the Ferry

Wellington Courthouse is owned by the National Trust of South Australia. Situated at the junction of the Murray River and Lake Alexandrina (with a breathtaking, panoramic view of the river itself, and also of the Wellington Ferry Crossing), Wellington boasts one of the oldest buildings in South Australia – the heritage Wellington Courthouse Museum complex. Although the original building was erected as a Police Station, it was rebuilt in 1864, and later on incorporated a Telephone Exchange. Since then it has been fully restored, and now houses a Museum. In recent times, it became converted into a kiosk-style café, as well as a licensed restaurant, with an upstairs function room suitable for weddings, etc, or for large business dinners. Finally, it provides accommodation facilities – in 2 different forms: firstly it is a Guesthouse-featuring two large bedrooms, a shared lounge & kitchen, together with bathroom & toilet facilities; secondly it contains two bedrooms at the back of the house – as a B&B option, with shower and toilet conveniences in another part of the main house.
